After working with my therapy for the last 5 years, I’ve picked up tools and tricks that help me in stressful situations! One mantra or trick that has helped me is repeating this phrase:
“Come back to my cup of water, the water is me, it’s here to hold me gently.”
What I love about this and why it stuck with me is that it resonates with my yoga practice and my spiritual side in my life right now
What I like about this is that I’m able to think about this mantra and learn how to bring my focus back to the breath, and when times are hard, or anxiety or stress creeps in, I’ve learned to say:
“Come back to my cup of water, and immediately I know to put my hands in an open prayer position with my palms cupped open.”
My whole purpose of this is to understand that if we hold too tightly to the cup of water, it will spill over the top, and if we hold too lightly, it will flow through the bottom of our cup. So we need to hold it gently so the water holds within our hand.
